This article examines some of the most noteworthy unsuccessful repair attempts that were highlighted on the well-liked television program "Housing Issue." Though the show is known for its ability to make homes look better, not every renovation has been successful. We’ll highlight particular instances where homeowners were left disappointed and with less-than-ideal living spaces as a result of poor design decisions, subpar materials, or poor execution. This collection attempts to highlight typical home improvement mistakes and provide advice on how to steer clear of them for your own projects.

Bedroom Evgeny and Tamara Kachalovs

Muscovites, who have a deep admiration for the Aria and the Kachalov family, reached out to the project organizers directly. Their dream was to replace the outdated bedroom with a new, comfortable Gothic-style space. The owners requested that there be a minimal amount of decor in addition to dark colors.

The family was given an odd room in an eclectic style that was rather bright, in place of a cruel bedroom. The lighting was exceptionally bright, even penetrating the partition. The bedroom started to remotely resemble the office, and the wardrobe was constructed of rather inexpensive plywood with cacti and ferns arranged inside.

Evgeny Kachalov was extremely angry, so he wasn’t happy with the designers’ work. The surprise that the man had tuned in for turned out to be unpleasant. A week or so later, additional design flaws "crawled out" and the legs came off the bed. The owner attempted, but was unable, to get in touch with the program organizers.

Irina Muravyeva kitchen

The well-known actress Irina Muravyova participated in the "Housing issue" program along with her spouse, Leonid Aidlin. The old kitchen was to have a sleek, contemporary appearance. Russian-style room décor and a fireplace were among the requests. After five weeks of repairs, Irina Muravyova did not even want to be in the finished room. The space grew closer, featuring an elevated floor and a mock fireplace. The latter caused great inconvenience by blocking the room entirely.

The family was in actual danger in the kitchen in addition to aesthetic issues. The hose was excessively long, the gas stove was installed improperly, and the location was chosen poorly. He might blow up the apartment if there’s a breakdown! After a while, the kitchen was redone by the organizers once more, and this time it turned out pretty well.

"Kitchen of large strokes" Ksenia Autheneva

Additionally, designers and finishes from the "Housing issue" program repaired Muscovite Autenyeva. Ksenia gave notice that they would need to remove all furniture, cover the floors, attach film to everything in the remaining rooms, and vacate the premises in two weeks.

Over two months were spent on the repairs, and 10 square meters were updated at a cost of 1.5 million rubles. The hostess was overjoyed when the new kitchen had its first "meeting," but she was later disappointed to see how unusable the interior had become.

Using the kitchen has become really inconvenient. As a result, there was a big space between the wall and the countertop where the crane’s handle was resting against the wall and it was awkward to turn on the water. Concrete floors and walls immediately absorb all pollutants; it is nearly impossible to remove oil stains from such a coating. Consequently, in order to maximize their presence in the kitchen, the hosts had to redo a few areas themselves.

The living room of Ekaterina Gorokhova

The apartment needed repairs, and Catherine, a mother of three, had always wanted to do so. She wanted to redesign the nursery, but the "ALOSIC question" organizers were only prepared to work on the living room’s layout. Once permission was granted, the brigade started the repairs.

At first glance, the completed living room appeared new, functional, and somewhat fashionable. It’s true that the tenants did not like the drop drawings on the suspended cabinet beneath the TV right away because they were so odd and looked like sperm.

In addition, the green cabinet wasn’t of very good quality; the kids used it for play, and then it broke off and was replaced with a more basic but sturdy one. Ekaterina Gorokhov was also troubled by a brightly colored carpet that was glued to the floor and could not be cleaned normally.

The cuisine of the family is Pokraiko

The entire family enjoys planning get-togethers in the kitchen, which is a tiny space in the apartment, but the tenants are really nice. Rassy requested a more functional and spacious room with a modified layout.

The owners were quite dissatisfied with many aspects of the renovated kitchen. After the repair, the space is now gloomy and dark with embossed coatings and a poorly dispersing black chandelier. Rather than novel and creative solutions, or an intriguing rampant layout, they were given a minimalist kitchen with an abundance of superfluous cabinets.

The interior was monochrome, which infuriated the hosts. A dark brown cage covers the floor and two and a half walls, and it starts to rush in the eyes right away. It’s hard to get back into the cabinets because they’re deep and dark, and you need to use a flashlight to see what’s inside. After pushing the facade, the TV emerges from the closet, and the door hangs at the residents’ forehead level. You have to pass by and avoid it.

The choice of the designers to install a table from a set of garden furniture with an umbrella hole seemed odd to the family. Additionally unstable, this table topples heavy dishes. Because of the placement of the sockets at the sink, the device wires are submerged in water, which is extremely dangerous. It’s quite noticeable that there is some paint on the wall above the door. The family was unable to acclimate to the new interior.

The cuisine of the family of Mazurenko

The apartment’s owners are a four-member theater family. They reside in a home that was constructed in 1907 and features stunning, tall ceilings with intricate details like rounded corners. The apartment has thick walls and lots of nooks for jams and pickles. Unification of the kitchen and living room was necessary following the family’s growth. The room had to be bright and painted in warm hues because the hosts also wanted to maintain the old house’s atmosphere and architecture.

Mazurenko was unpleasantly surprised and deeply confused at the conclusion of the three-month repair before becoming accustomed to the circumstances for an extended period of time. The combined room started to look like the entryway. The scene was lifeless due to the gray-olive color of the walls. Along the walls appeared a multitude of shelves, some of which served no purpose at all.

The kitchen no longer had the familiar hinged lockers; instead, internal (built-in) lockers were used. It also appears odd that the refrigerator was concealed by the decorative panel at the end of the kitchen.

Antipine family living room

The protagonists of one of the shows imagined a large, light-filled room where they could work, rest, play, and socialize with friends. Regretfully, the designers chose to literally "put his family in the cage," as was mentioned right at the start of the filming, because they had a different perspective on the matter.

After repairs, the space started to take on the appearance of a big bird cage or Chinese box. Guests are simply not allowed to sleep on the enormous bed with numerous pillows that antipins received in place of a transformer sofa or other contemporary furniture. Additionally, although this bed occupies half the space, the sleeping area is tiny.

In the room’s corner stood a white closet that resembled a refrigerator. It is meant to be used for hanging clothes, as planned, but the only amount of empty space inside was sufficient for a pair of dresses and pants, and even then, they weren’t positioned all the way along. The blue second locker doesn’t go well with the other lockers; it looks cheesy.

It turned out that the lighting was inadequate, with dreadfully little light in the dark. Flowers and decor don’t go together at all. Most significantly, there is a large, obnoxious pattern of wallpaper on the walls that is an unpleasant dark green color and is caused by a pressing sensation. The room was hopelessly ruined after such a repair, and the owners were not at all happy with the new circumstances.

Examining the different repair attempts that are presented in the "Housing Issue" program makes it clear that not every solution works. For a variety of reasons, some home repairs don’t live up to expectations, even with the best of intentions.

Not being properly prepared is one common mistake that is seen. Poor results are frequently the result of rushing into a repair without careful planning and assessment. Ignoring these important steps can jeopardize the repair process, whether it’s not using the right tools and materials or performing insufficient surface preparation.

Furthermore, mishandled materials and techniques can lead to unsuccessful repairs. Inadequate knowledge about paint types, application techniques, and surface compatibility can cause homeowners to unintentionally exacerbate pre-existing issues rather than solve them.

Moreover, the lack of expert advice may make repairs more difficult. Even though do-it-yourself projects can save costs, some repairs require a professional’s skill. It can become worse if you only use online tutorials or non-expert advice; this can cause frustration and waste money.

In summary, handling the world of home repairs calls for a combination of expertise, knowledge, and occasionally outside help. Homeowners can raise their chances of success and preserving the integrity of their living spaces by emphasizing careful planning, learning the fundamentals of repair methods, and consulting experts when necessary.
